Bringing Classrooms Home: Empowering Girls Through Correspondence Education

In many low-income and conservative households, girls are often forced to give up their education after school. Whether due to cultural restrictions, safety concerns, or financial hardship, higher education becomes a distant dream. At Scholars Education and Welfare Academy, we’re working to change that — one girl at a time.

Through our Correspondence Education Support Program, we help young women enrol in distance-learning courses at Jamia Millia Islamia. This allows them to pursue graduation from the safety and comfort of their homes, without the pressure of attending regular college.

From helping with admission procedures, choosing the right subjects, arranging study materials, to regular check-ins and motivation, we ensure these young women never feel alone on their academic journey.

Most of our beneficiaries are first-generation learners. For them, receiving a university degree is not just about education; it’s about dignity, self-worth, and new possibilities. Families that once resisted the idea of higher education now celebrate their daughters’ academic milestones.

Take Ayesha, for example. Married young and restricted from leaving the house, she believed her education was over. But with our support, she enrolled in a BA correspondence course, studied with dedication, and is now preparing for competitive exams. Her confidence has transformed not just her life, but also her family’s mindset.

This initiative reflects the very core of our mission — to create affirmative action for the underserved. It shows that education doesn’t need to happen in a classroom to change lives.

With your support, we aim to reach hundreds more girls across Delhi and beyond. Because when you educate a girl, you empower a generation.
